French massively withdraw on livret-A

Livret A is a regulated standard bank saving free of social charges and taxes. As a long term preferred saving, French have deposited more than € 360 billions. But since January 2013 the rate is revised every 6 months and went down from 2.25 % to 0.75 %. And according to it’s automated rule (based of cpi and short term bank rate) rate should be set at 0.25 % in february. Therefore French massively withdraw more than eleven billion.

Part of the fund has been left on bank account bearing no interest, part have been invested on a 2 % – 4 years in habitation saving plan and part have been invested on French life insurance saving scheme.
